Here at Abbey Fields our priority is for children, their families and staff to feel happy and settled. Day to day life is busy for us all , however we pride ourselves in being able to offer a supportive atmosphere for healthy minds and bodies.
Staff have undertaken significant training to be able to support this and we have staff who are part of the working party at Abbey Infants School that consistently review our shared policy.
Children take part in Yoga activities based on the Yoga Babies programme and Amy Townsend has attended specific training offered by the IDS Team at Warwickshire to support and lead this.
Training undertaken by our team includes:

The nursery has strong links with the health visiting team. Parents can access local support from the health visitor or midwife at your local GP surgery. You can also visit Riversley Children's Centre for advice and support.
The named link nursery health visitor is currently Liz Gentles and she visits nursery once a month.
The nursery is supported by two Dental Nurses from Oasis Dental Clinic. Lisa Smith and Tara Devaney visit the setting once or twice a year.
They give a fun packed talk to the children about healthy eating practices relating to your teeth , demonstrate toothbrushing, read lots of stories and send the children home with lots of goodies to support good oral hygiene.
