Autumn 1 - Happy and Healthy!
We have learnt all about our bodies and keeping ourselves healthy. We have been learning about the 5 food groups, a balanced diet and exercise.
We are going to make healthy pizza's, wraps, yoghurt pots and bread in a bag! You will be amazed by our 'Archimboldo' inspired fruit masterpieces!
This year, we have also learnt all about food during WW2 and got to experience being an evacuee for the day. We have loved the history part of this topic!
Autumn 2 - Media Magic!
We will be exploring and further developing our understanding of Computing and we will explore and use a range of technology.
In class we will be creating our own animations- using digital cameras and movie programs.
We will be programming Bee-Bots and developing our skills at sequencing instructions, programming and using the language of direction. We even had a visit from 'Nao' the robot and got to make a robot head move and talk by programming it. We are amazing with algorithms (step by step instructions).
In school we have a new resource: Programmable Lego. Children will work with a partner to follow a set of instructions to make a model and then program the model so that it moves.
Children will have the opportunity to use the iPads to film T.V. broadcasts and interviews.
We will base this topic around the interests of the children and so a range of children's apps will be accessed.

First we started in Thomas Farynor’s bakery, we visited the living quarters and even got to see Samuel Pepys and his wife asleep in bed on the 3rd September 1666. Everyone got to dress up and take part. We learnt lots of facts and used all our senses to explore.
